Licences

Effective Date: July 13, 2026

Friendly News is built with third-party services and open-licensed content. This page collects the acknowledgements those providers ask us to make.

Openverse

Image search in the App is made using Openverse, but is not endorsed or certified by Openverse.

Pexels and Pixabay

Generic stock photography in the App is provided by Pexels and its photographers under the Pexels License, and by Pixabay and its contributors under the Pixabay Content License.

Images and Creative Commons

The photographs shown with our articles are sourced from Wikimedia Commons, Openverse, Pexels and Pixabay under their own licences — Creative Commons licences and public-domain dedications, and the stock libraries' own licences. Each image is shown with its creator, licence, and a link to the full licence terms. Images may be resized or re-encoded for display.
